Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) Concerning Breast Augmentation
How Large Will You Do an Augmentation?
Q: "What if I want a larger breast than you might think is ideal? Do you use larger implants? Will you make me any size breast I want? I know from researching the Internet that I want at least a 400cc implant."
A: One thing I can guarantee you. I can produce a breast of any size you want--I have for the past 20 years. The difference between many other surgeons and me is that I'll force you to accept the consequences of your decisions--before your surgery! Some surgeons might rather sell you an operation than try to educate you about the long-term consequences of your decisions now. We will make every effort to explain all of the consequences to you. We've been doing this for 20 years. As a surgeon, you don't fully realize the consequences of what you do for at least 10 years following patients. Ask surgeons how long they've been doing breast augmentations! If you convince me that you understand the consequences of your decisions, and if you're willing to sign an informed consent that documents those decisions, I can create absolutely anything that you can envision! We've done it many times. But I'm a little confused! How can you base a decision on what size you should be on a chat room on the Internet? How does the chat room evaluate your tissues? Do you think your tissues are like any other women? Even if you're the same height and weight? If you do, you're cheating yourself. When you consult a surgeon, what you're paying for is expertise and experience. Every good, experienced surgeon will try to give you that! The question is whether you take advantage of that experience, or whether you make the decision based on Internet chat. Don't get me wrong--I think Internet sites are sometimes extremely valuable. But I'd encourage you to use common sense--this isn't ordering a cheeseburger. You're consulting surgeons who have many years of education and experience. Listen to them. If you like what you hear, have them do your surgery. If you don't, don't. You're the main person who'll pay the ultimate price for your decisions! Nothing wrong with listening to advice. People mean well, and it's nice
they want to help you. But they are not you. If you take the advice, ask
the person giving it if they're willing to sign a legal document guaranteeing
the outcome? That's what you're asking your surgeon to do!
